Back in 2008, while thinking about creating sculptures based upon my sold paintings, Jason also began to entertain the idea of turning those sculptures into jewelry — a type of "wearable art."
The first iteration was a sterling silver, square framed pendant necklace. This rendition of Buddha used the exact same line work as the original painting.
The second piece evolved to remove the background completely. Jason thought it might be interesting to free the image from its frame and create a stand alone version of the painting’s image.
As a finishing touch, Jason wanted to create a unique box to present the Buddha pendant necklace in. He was able to source packaging for the jewelry that would allow it to be displayed beautifully, while doubling as a picture frame to hold an included miniature, signed print of the original Buddha painting.
Alongside Buddha, JASON OLIVA [JEWELRY] offers Framed and Cut-Out Pendants in Sterling Silver, Rose, Black Rhodium and 18k White Gold in the following designs: Astronaut, Dragon, Lion, Gorilla, Dragonfly, Octopus, Rose, and Stripey Horse. All current designs are available through Etsy.
In keeping with the idea of "wearable art," Jason has expanded his [COLLECTION] to include apparel. Right now, Jason offers four unique designs available on t-shirts.
Jason has also created a series of lapel pins that are bound to spice up any wardrobe. He currently offers three distinct designs: Gorilla, Buddah, and Astronaut.
In the same way that wall art can create a calming effect, Jason felt that a coloring book can be equally as therapeutic. Jason created An A to Z Coloring Book for Everyone, showcasing 26 of his most popular paintings.
Many of the works on paper that Jason sells are given as gifts. Likewise, his greeting cards make for a perfect "Hello!"
